Direct Debit Setup: Self-Authorised Flow
Context: This section covers the full process of setting up a Direct Debit account when you, the Employer Admin, are also the authorised Account Holder.
New: If you have undergone the Identity Verification (IDV) process, you will be ‘verified’ for 24 hours, meaning you will not have to submit identity documents for any subsequent bank account setups during this time.
Step 1: Initiate Direct Debit Setup
Important: This process can take up to 7 days to complete.
Navigate to Settings > Contribution Settings > Contribution Payment Details.
Click Add Direct Debit Account.
In the Account holder modal, open the Select the authorised person dropdown and choose I am the authorised person.
Click Continue. You'll be taken to the Set up direct debit screen.
Step 2: Verify Your Identity
On the Set up direct debit screen, under Step 1: Verify Your Identity, click Accept and Start →.
You will be navigated to the Verify your identity screen, which displays a QR code and a link.
On your mobile device, scan the QR code or use the provided link to begin the identity check flow.
On the mobile flow, click Start to proceed. The portal screen will transition to Verification in progress.
Complete the mobile verification flow by uploading your ID document and taking a liveness selfie. After following this flow a verification complete screen will show on your mobile device.
Once submitted, the portal will return to the Set up direct debit screen. A notification confirms your submission, and Step 2 will unlock.
If you need to exit while verification is in progress: Click Cancel or the × icon to return to the previous screen. Leaving this screen before the mobile flow is completed will abort the verification.
If this process does not meet the expected verification you will be prompted to contact support for assistance.
Step 3: Sign the Direct Debit Authority (DDA)
Under Step 2: Sign the Direct Debit Authority (DDA), click Start
You will be navigated to the Direct Debit Authority (DDA) screen.
Under Bank Account Details, enter the BSB, Account Number, and Account Name. The BSB will be validated in real-time.
Under Declaration, click the Download Agreement function to review the Direct Debit Request Services Agreement.
Select both mandatory checkboxes to acknowledge and authorise the agreement.
Click Done. The portal will return to the Set up direct debit screen. A notification confirms "DDA complete," Step 3 is unlocked, and the penny test deposit is triggered automatically.
Help: Your Payment Reference Number (PRN) should begin with
LGLP9_
followed by 6 digits and an underscore, followed by 5 characters. The correct
value should match the format: LGLP9_XXXXXX_XXXXX. If your banking
app does
not display underscores, please include them between the three value sets
shown in the example.
Step 4: Verify Your Bank Account (Penny Test)
Check the bank account you provided in Step 2 for a small-value deposit from Wrkr and note the reference code in the transaction description.
On the Set up direct debit screen, under Step 3: Verify Your Bank Account, enter the reference code into the Enter reference code input field.
Click Verify.
If correct: You are navigated to the Direct debit setup complete screen.
If incorrect: An "Invalid reference code" error displays. You have a maximum of 3 attempts for this setup.
If you have the Organisation Admin role: Click Go to payment settings to navigate to the Contribution Payment Details screen. Here you can see the account listed and mark as preferred payment method.
Direct Debit Setup: Delegated Flow
Context: This section covers the process of setting up a Direct Debit account when you, the Employer Admin, nominate Someone else (the authorised account holder) to complete the setup.

Click Add Direct Debit Account.
In the Account holder modal, open the Select the authorised person dropdown and choose Someone else.
Under the new authorised person section, enter the Given Name, Family Name, and Email of the authorised individual.
Click Notify account holder.
The modal will close, and return to the Set preferred payment method screen. The setup status is now showing as Assign to [Name].
Step 2: Nominee Access and Setup (Nominee's Task)
The nominee needs to open the email notification with the title "You have a task to complete for the Employer Portal."
Click the Complete task button or use the provided link to navigate to the Login screen.
Log in with the nominated email address or create a new account linked to that email.
Upon successful login, you will be redirected immediately to the Set up direct debit flow.
Follow the steps in the Direct Debit Setup: Self-Authorised Flow (Steps 1, 2, and 3) to complete the setup.

Step 2: Resend Email (For Assigned Status)
On the relevant details screen, click Resend email next to the setup in Assigned status.
If successful: A toast notification will appear: "✔️ Email resent to FirstName LastName."
